  • 500 gr toasted blanched almonds
  • 300 gr walnuts clean
  • 300 gr vanilla sugar
  • 270 gr flour
  • 500 gr of candied fruit (pumpkin and orange peel)
  • 50 gr spices (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and coriander, all in powder)
  • 50 gr of honey

Grind up to a  flour the nuts and a handful of almonds and put about 3 tablespoons aside.
Place the almonds, ground nuts, spices and candied fruit, in a large bowl and  mix well
Combine the flour with honey and blend well.
In a saucepan, put the icing sugar and ? cup of water,and as it disolves, stir constantly (otherwise  lumps will form). While it is still hot pour over the dough. Mix well and pay special  attention to the part of the dough that is on the bottom.
If the dough is too hard you can to dilute it with a little of your favorite liqueur .
Line the pans (with low  borders  and about 22 cm. diameter) with baking paper that has been wetted and then wrung.  Pour in the mixture  (packing it down)  and cover with the  grounded walnuts and almonds that had been placed aside.
Bake at 100 ? for 30 minutes
